CHS Girls Basketball beats Lowell

The Chesterton girls basketball team got back to its winning ways with a 60-38 non-conference victory at Lowell on Wednesday night.

The Trojans led just 9-8 after one quarter, but blitzed the Red Devils for 27 points in the second quarter and a 36-13 lead at halftime.

Offensively, Shannon McCoy led Chesterton with 16 points, while freshman Ashley Craycraft added 13 points.

Rounding out the scoring for the Trojans were Jenna Wadding (8 points), Brittany Privett (6 points), Hailey Vale (4 points), Sydney Sisson (4 points), Jenna Tarnowski (3 points), Maddie Scott (2 points), Annika Babcock (2 points) and Marney Sisson (2 points).

Chesterton will finish the regular season on Friday night when they travel to Andrean to face the 59ers. The junior varsity game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
