With one match still to be played, the Chesterton boys tennis team wrapped up an outright Duneland Athletic Conference title with a 5-0 victory over Michigan City on Thursday night.

“After losing 11 seniors to graduation, including five varsity players, to just be in the hunt for a conference title would be a great accomplishment for us,” Chesterton coach Tom Bour said. “For the boys to win it outright and still be unbeaten in conference is huge for our program. Coach Matt (Adams) and I are so proud of these guys.”

The singles swept singles play with a 6-0, 6-2 victory for Fabio Haiduc over Ryan Cuma at No. 1 and a 6-0, 6-1 win for Drake Redman over Josiah Miller at No. 2.

Troy Feller finished the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 over Luke Poulin.

In doubles, John Powell and John Petro beat Lucas White and Kyle Yackus 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1. At No. 2, Danny Vear and David Archbald finished the night with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lucas Hanft and Zach Sissons.
