CHS Boys Tennis 4th in South Bend

The Chesterton boys tennis team finished fourth in the four-team South Bend St. Joseph’s Tournament on Saturday to start its season.

Ian Condes was the lone Trojan to win twice on the day (2-1) with a second place finish at No. 4 singles. Other singles victories came from Drake Reman at No. 2 (1-2) and Danny Vear (1-2) at No. 3. Fabio Haiduc went 0-3 at No. 1 singles.

In doubles, Connor Engels and Cole Snyder picked up a victory (1-1) at three doubles, while other duos consisted of Troy Feller/John Powell (No. 1), John Petro/David Archbald (No. 2), Engels/Alex Henderson (No. 3), Gavin Rivera/Connor Potesta (No. 4) and Potesta/Grant Flesher (No. 4).

Chesterton opens its regular season schedule at home on Thursday against Illiana Christian. The match is set for a 4 p.m. start.

CHS Girls Soccer falls twice

The Chesterton girls soccer team dropped a pair of non-conference decisions on Saturday afternoon in Zionsville.

In game one, the Trojans fell 2-1 to Brownsburg.

In game two, CHS dropped a 5-2 decision to Zionsville.

Chesterton returns to the field on Thursday when they travel to Valparaiso for a 5 p.m. junior varsity start.
