CHS Boys Soccer outlasts Lake Central

Back To Front Page

John Ward scored the game’s only goal as the Chesterton boys soccer team improved to 9-2 on the year with a 1-0 Duneland Athletic Conference victory at Lake Central on Thursday.

“Good overall game for us,” Chesterton coach Jamie Sensibaugh said. “We had to grind it out in a tough place to play. They don’t lose on their home field very often.”

Trent Weller left a ball for Ward just inside the box and the senior forward beat LC goalkeeper George Trujillo.

“We played good soccer tonight,” Sensibaugh said. “I’m proud of the heart we showed.”

The Trojans had multiple chances to get on the board, but Trujillo turned them away.

“We had a lot of opportunities to score and just didn’t convert them,” Sensibaugh said.
