The Chesterton boys soccer team dropped a 4-2 decision at FW Canterbury on Saturday afternoon.

“It was a real hot day and a long drive,” Chesterton coach Jamie Sensibaugh said. “We spent most of the day chasing and you can’t play that way for long periods of time. We need to learn from our mistakes today and move forward.”

The Trojans took a 1-0 lead on a corner kick from Bailey Arthur that found the head of Caleb Haire.

“After we scored, we had a 10-15 minute stretch of bad communication that led to three Canterbury goals.”

Trailing 3-1 at the break, Chesterton got a goal from Andy VanNoort to pull within 3-2, but a late Canterbury goal set the final score.

Trojan keeper Doug Filipek had four saves in the loss.

Chesterton returns to the field tonight when they travel to Hobart to face the Brickies. The JV game is set for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
