CHS Boys Soccer blasts Hobart

The Chesterton boys soccer team had little trouble in picking up a 7-1 victory at Hobart on Monday night.

“This is an opponent we play in the first round of Sectionals,” Chesterton coach Jamie Sensibaugh said. “We weren’t as intense early as I’d have liked, but we settled in and starting making a nice build-up.”

Trent Weller led the Trojans with three goals, while David Mudd, John Ward, Michael James and Gave Mihut all tallied a goal as well.

Ward dished out two assists with Jared O’Dell, Drew Kamaski, Jameson Sensibaugh and Noah Brickley also recording helpers.

Caleb Gmyrek made one save in goal as the Trojans outshot the Brickies 27-2.

Record -- Chesterton 12-2-1.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 12, Hobart 0

The Chesterton junior varsity boys soccer team improved to 15-0 on the year with a 12-0 victory over Hobart.

Scoring for the Trojans were Andrew Stephan (4 goals), Matt Blake (2 goals), Phil Flores, Blake Notzen, Parker Farese, Sam Gutierrez, Tyler Schroeder and Owen Hallas.

Joey Dishman and Hunter Warren combined for two saves in goal in the shutout.
