CHS Boys Lacrosse wins twice in Indy

The Chesterton boys lacrosse team picked up a pair of victories on Saturday at Bishop Chatard in Indianapolis.

In the opener, the Trojans beat Brownsburg 11-8.

Offensively, Mason Witt (3 goals), Zak Smith (2 goals), Blake Ellenwood (2 goals), Sam Westergren (2 goals), Trey Beeler (1 goal) and Dane Stanley (1 goal) tallied goals for Chesterton.

Jack Masten recorded nine faceoff wins, while Ellenwood, Stanley and Westergren combined for seven ground balls. Masten tallied four ground balls and Giuseppe Ricciardi recorded three ground balls.

Defensively, Kevin Fulk led the way with four ground balls and Max Martin had three takeaways.

In game two, the Trojans got a turnover forced by Ellenwood who passed to Witt for the game-winner with seven seconds to play.

Offensively, Beeler had six goals, while Gilbertsen, Smith, Westergren, Stanley and Witt all scored once. Kyle Bucy grabbed a season-high 22 saves.
