CHS boys golf team wins twice

The Chesterton boys golf team improved to 11-1 on the year and 7-1 in Duneland Athletic Conference play with a victory over LaPorte and Michigan City Monday.

The Trojans fired a 158 team score at Michigan City Municipal, while LaPorte (174) and Michigan City (187) followed.

Mitch Davis took medalist honors with a one-over-par 37. Davis was followed by Cade Lewandowski (40), Eli Winski (40), Cameron Schultz (41) and Devin Trusty (42).

Chesterton returns to the course on Thursday when they host Lake Central and Merrillville at Sand Creek Country Club. The first tee time is set for 4 p.m.

The Chesterton junior varsity golf team split a DAC triangular on Tuesday.

Peter Girzadas led the way with a 47, followed by Jackson Kerkes (51), Jackson Roberts (51), Christian Hut nick (57) and Max Winski (57).
