CHS Boys Golf finishes 5th at LC Invite

The Chesterton boys golf team finished fifth in the 12-team Lake Central Invitational at Palmira on Saturday.

Valparaiso won the event with a 314-team score, while Munster (322), Crown Point (331) and Andrean (331) finished ahead of the Trojans’ 335-team score.

Mike Marshall led the way for Chesterton with an 83, while Austin Johnson (84), Brandon Martin (84) and Adam VanderZanden (84) followed.

Junior Varsity

The Chesterton junior varsity boys team finished fourth at the DAC JV Meet at Beechwood on Saturday.

Crown Point won the event (345), followed by Lake Central (350), LaPorte (350), Chesterton (366), Valparaiso (373), Portage (394) and Michigan City (436).

Evan Zondor led the Trojans with an 85, while Jay Crots (86), Zach Von Huben (96), Alec Slazas (96) and Zach Bogich (103) rounded out the scoring.
