CHS Boys Golf beats Crown Point

The Chesterton boys golf team took its game on the road and came away with a big 157-165 victory over Crown Point at Youche Country Club on Tuesday.

“The boys played really well,” Chesterton coach Kent Butler said. “Especially under the conditions. It was pretty cold, damp and windy.”

Mitch Davis made three birdies to take medalist honors for the Trojans with a one-over-par 37.

Rounding out the scoring for Chesterton were Devin Trusty (38), Eric Richardson (41), Mike Zondor (41) and Kyle Krol (43).

Crown Point -- Grant Miller 39, Yianni Kostourous 42, Rex Roenick 43, Sam Amodeo 41, Connor Proudman 44.

Chesterton -- Mitch Davis 37, Kyle Krol 43, Mike Zondor 41, Eric Richardson 41, Devin Trusty 38.

Junior Varsity

Crown Point 196, Chesterton 200

The Chesterton junior varsity dropped a close 196-200 decision to Crown Point.

Gabe Davis led the way for the Trojans with a 46. Rounding out the scoring were Jacob Davis (50), Cameron Morman (51), Eli Winski (53) and Jeff Radzik (64).
