CHS Baseball drops DAC opener

The Chesterton baseball team dropped its Duneland Athletic Conference opener on Tuesday night in a 4-0 decision against Portage.

The Trojans allowed three runs in the second, two unearned, and another in the third against starter Aery Pratt. Pratt scattered six hits and struck out three in taking the loss.

Offensively, Chesterton picked up five hits on the night. Singles came from Jordan Morandini, Pratt, Tyler Sufana, Mitch Kobitz and Corey Rusboldt.

The Trojans return to the field on Thursday when they travel to Valparaiso for a 4:30 p.m. first pitch.
