The Chesterton High School Bowling team will advance three of its bowlers to
the Indiana High School Bowling State Finals at Mike Aulby’s Arrowhead Lanes
in Lafayette.
In singles, Chesterton will be represented by Regional and Sectional
champion Candice Tovo. The senior was third after two games, but couldn’t
catch up after several other girls had their best games of the day at
Semistate.
She finished in a tie for seventh with teammate Heidi Tucker.
Tucker started with a 179, two pins away from the advancing 13. The
sophomore came back with a 209 in the second game, the second highest game
for the ladies.
A final game of 180 caused a three-way tie for 7th advancing her to State in
Lafayette.
Also joining them at State from the boys team is Nate Sipe with a ninth
place finish in Regionals. At Semistate, the senior kept his consistency up
with games of 204, 205 and 193 to land him in a three-way tie for seventh
place.
The Indiana High School Bowling State Finals are at Mike Aulby’s Arrowhead
Lanes in Lafayette on Feb. 17 with singles beginning at 9 a.m. ED.
Chesterton High
School and Middle School Bowling are sponsored by Westchester Lanes.
