Chesterton Volleyball improves to 2-0 overall

The Chesterton volleyball team improved to 2-0 on the year with a 25-22, 25-23, 25-21 victory over Lowell on Thursday.

Offensively, Meghan Gaffigan led the Trojans with 12 kills, while Maggie Vrahoretis added 10 kills. Sydney Baltus contributed nine kills with Reese Czarniecki tallying five kills.

Vivi Smilgius dished out a team-best 20 assists and Vrahoretis added 17 helpers.

Defensively, AJ Devereaux had 30 digs and Smilgius added nine. Baltus and Meghan Gaffigan added eight digs each.

On the service line, Baltus, Gaffigan and Vrahoretis each recorded two aces, while Czarniecki, Emma Ekblaw and Vrahoretis all had one block at the net.

The Trojans return to the court on Monday when they host Andrean beginning at 5 p.m.
