Chesterton Volleyball falls in 5 games at Michigan City

The Chesterton volleyball team dropped a tough 25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 25-6, 15-7 Duneland Athletic Conference decision at Michigan City on Tuesday night.

Offensively, the Trojans were led by Taylor Bowser and Maggie Vrahoretis with 13 kills each. Ariel Rohe added seven kills and Sydney Baltus had six kills.

Vivi Smilgius dished out 24 assists with Vrahoretis adding 14 helpers.

On the service line, Bowser, Lorann Lombardini and Caroline Parks each had two aces.

Defensively, Bowser had a team-best 25 digs with Lombardini adding 23 digs. Vrahoretis tallied 14 digs with Sammy Devereaux recording 12 digs.

Chesterton returns to the court on Thursday night when they host Merrillville. The JV game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
