Chesterton softball team beats Valparaiso

Sydney Cooley struck out 12 and allowed just two hits as the Chesterton softball team got a 5-1 Duneland Athletic Conference victory over Valparaiso.

Bailey Slivka led the Trojan offense with three hits, while Cooley blasted a solo home run. Mallory McKee (double) and Jill Bohnert each added a pair of RBIís.

Junior Varsity

Valparaiso 7, Chesterton 6

The Chesterton junior varsity dropped a tough 7-6 decision to Valparaiso on Wednesday.

Michelle Vasquez had three singles, two RBIís and scored a run, while Britta Johnson had a double, single and scored twice to lead the offense.

Emily Jerome pitched all seven innings for the Trojans with six strikeouts and four walks.
