Chesterton Gymnasts beat Lowell

The Chesterton gymnastics team took to the road Thursday night and came away with a 109.10-95.20 victory at Lowell.

The Trojans took the top four spots in all four events led by double event winner Sophie Hunzelman. Hunzelman won the Vault (9.45) and the Floor (9.60), while also taking the All-Around (36.85).

Other event winners included Brittney Troup on the Bars (9.30) and Lexi Avey on the Beam (8.95).

Chesterton returns to competition on Tuesday when they host Michigan City beginning at 6 p.m.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 102.85, Lowell 61.95

The Chesterton junior varsity had little trouble in winning 102.85-61.95 Thursday night.

Individual event winners for the Trojans included Jamie Stento (Vault), Alyssa Donovan (Bars), Baylie Lawson (Beam) and Caity Bogue (Floor). Bogue also won the All-Around (33.30).
