The Chesterton girls soccer team continued its run through the Duneland Athletic Conference with a 4-0 victory at Merrillville on Tuesday.

The Trojans scored early as Desiree Bell took a pass from Jordan Wadding for a 1-0 lead just eight minutes into the game.

After halftime, Chesterton put three goals in the back of the net in less than 10 minutes to secure the win. The first came on a header by Lennon Metz on an assist from Kaylee Lindahl.

“That was a nice goal,” Chesterton coach Jason Conway said. “We had talked at half about needing to get the ball to the outside and then having a good cross to the middle. The girls really executed well on Lennon’s goal.”

Bell and Lindahl added the last two goals for the Trojans, while Sammie Campaniello and Katie Green both had assists.

Anne Marie Radzik and Molly McLaughlin combined in goal for the shutout. Both keepers had one save.
