Chesterton Girls Golf splits season opener

The Chesterton girls golf team started its 2018 season by splitting a triangular with Warsaw and Triton on Thursday in Warsaw.

The host Tigers won the meet with a 383-team score, followed by the Trojans (427) and Triton (491).

Freshman Kaitlyn McCoy led Chesterton with a 97, while Peyton Martinson (103), Brooke Smith (110), Addison Gentry (117) and Abby Phillips (127) rounded out the scoring.

The Trojans return to the course on Monday when they travel to Sandy Pines for the Kankakee Valley Invitational.
