The Chesterton boys soccer team scored twice in the first half and twice in
the second half en route to a 4-0 Duneland Athletic Conference victory at
Portage on Wednesday night.
“An excellent game for us,” Chesterton coach Jamie Sensibaugh said. “We had
great ball movement, good execution of sets and easy one- and two-touch
passes all over the field. We made some nice finishes tonight too.”
Zach Froman scored twice in the first half for the Trojans as they built a
2-0 lead. His opening score came in the 18th minute Billy Biehl slid him a
past just eight yards from the net.
Froman’s second goal came in the 37th minutes when John Ward found him and
he beat Portage keeper Cody Simmons into the lower right corner of the net.
Jonathan Blake scored just eight minutes into the second half for a 3-0 lead
as Biehl recorded his second assist. Keith Radzik set the final score with
just over five minutes to play.
Caleb Gymrek had four saves in the shutout victory.
