Chesterton Boys Soccer shuts out Concord 5-0

Zack Bowser already holds the school’s all-time goal record, but set it even higher on Saturday with three first half goals as the Chesterton boys soccer team beat Concord 5-0.

Bowser opened the scoring on a penalty kick and four minutes later scored on a header off a cross from Josh Wadowski. The third goal came when Bowser struck the upper 90 of the goal from 20 yards out for a 3-0 Trojan halftime lead.

Ryan O’Dell and Anthony McCrovitz added second half goals to set the final score. Liam Grimes and Gage Torres also handed out helpers.

Charlie Eaton recorded one save in picking up the shutout victory.

Chesterton -- Zack Bowser 3 goals; Ryan O’Dell 1 goal; Liam Grimes 1 assist; Gage Torres 1 assist; Josh Wadowski 1 assist; Anthony McCrovitz 1 goal; Charlie Eaton 1 save.

Record: Chesterton 12-2.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 2, Concord 1

The Chesterton junior varsity improved to 10-1-2 on the year with a 2-1 win over Concord.

John Kovalan and Danny Sarianni scored goals for the Trojans, while Sarianni and Gavin Bailey each dished out an assist.

Ryan McWhirter recorded 12 saves in the victory.
