Chesterton Boys Soccer improves to 3-0

The Chesterton boys soccer team improved to 3-0 with its third shutout of the season in a 4-0 victory at West Lafayette on Saturday.

“It was a long drive, an early morning and a really warm day, but I thought it was a good team effort,” Chesterton coach Jamie Sensibaugh said. “We got good contributions from some young guys and our set plays are getting better and that’s something we’ve been working on.”

Trojan goals were scored by Billy Biehl, Jameson Sensibaugh, Trent Weller and Noah Brickley. Assists were dished out by John Ward, Jared O’Dell and Trevor Turner.

Goalkeeper Caleb Gmyrek recorded four saves.

Chesterton 4, West Lafayette 0


Chesterton -- Billy Biehl 1 goal; Trent Weller 1 goal; Noah Brickley 1 goal; Jameson Sensibaugh 1 goal; John Ward 1 assist; Jared O’Dell 1 assist; Trevor Turner 1 assist; Caleb Gmyrek 4 saves.

Record -- Chesterton 3-0.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 6, West Lafayette 0

The Chesterton junior varsity improved to 3-0 on the year with a 6-0 victory at West Lafayette on Saturday.

Goal scorers for the Trojans were Phil Flores (2), Owen Hallas, Tim Vincent, Andrew Stephan and Tyler Schroeder. Schroeder and Gabe Mihut each added an assist.

Joey Dishman and Hunter Warren combined in goal for the shutout.
