The Chesterton boys soccer team picked up its first Duneland Athletic Conference win of the season with a 5-0 victory over Michigan City.

The Trojans got two goals each from Evan Ekblaw and Seth Conway with Andrew VanNoort adding the final tally.

“We managed three goals from two defenders in Ekblaw and VanNoort,” Sabedra said. “Seth Conway was very creative in the final third and created a lot of opportunities for other players to join the attack.”

Charlie Eaton (1 save) and Peter Girzadas (4 saves) combined for the shutout victory.

“Michigan City came out with some explosive runs at our defense to start the second half,” Sabedra said. “Peter Girzadas came up big with four quick saves.”
