Chesterton boys score early and often in 8-0 win

The Chesterton boys soccer team has been eager to get back on the field after last Wednesday’s loss at Valparaiso.

They wasted little time and cruised to an 8-0 victory over Culver Academy on Monday night.

“It was good to get the bad taste out of our mouth,” Chesterton coach Jamie Sensibaugh said.

The Trojans got two goals each out of John Ward and Trevor Turner, while Jason Garmany, David Gutierrez, Jared O’Dell and Trent Weller also scored goals.

Assists were dished out by Billy Biehl (3), David Mudd (2), Jameson Sensibaugh, Adam Whitlow and Ward.

Caleb Gymrek recorded three saves in picking up his fourth shutout victory of the year.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 2, Culver Military 1

The Chesterton junior varsity improved to 5-0 on the year with a 2-1 victory over Culver Military on Monday.

Brett Molnar and Matt Blake each scored a goal for the Trojans. Joey Dishman recorded two saves in picking up the win.
