Chesterton Boys golf opens with easy win

The Chesterton boys golf team came out of the gate swinging.

The Trojans fired a 152 team score to beat Boone Grove (186), Lowell (200) and Andrean (203) to open the regular season at Lake of the Four Seasons on Wednesday.

Senior Mitch Davis took medalist honors with a four-under-par 32 that included an eagle and three birdies.

Davis was followed by Devin Trusty (38), Sean Elliott (40), Cameron Schultz (42) and Jackson Roberts (49).

The Trojans return to the course on Saturday when they play in the Michigan City Marquette Invitational at Michigan City Municipal. Tee time is 12 p.m.
