Chesterton Boys golf gets double win

The Chesterton boys golf team improved to 12-1 on the season and 8-1 in Duneland Athletic Conference play with victories over Michigan City and LaPorte on Tuesday.

The Trojans shot a 154-team score at Michigan City Municipal to beat the Wolves (186) and Slicers (192).

Mitch Davis took medalist honors with an even par 36, followed by Devin Trusty with a 39.

Rounding out the scoring for Chesterton were Cameron Schultz (46), Sean Elliott (40) and Jackson Kerkes (39).

The Trojans return to the course on Thursday when they face Lake Central and Merrillville at Sand Creek Country Club. The first tee time is 4 p.m.

Junior Varsity

LaPorte 192, Chesterton 195

The Chesterton junior varsity dropped a close 192-195 decision to LaPorte on Tuesday.

Christian Hutnick led the Trojans with a 44. Hutnick was followed by Jackson Roberts (45), Max Winski (50), Beckham Mountford (56) and Sam Keane (59).
