Chesterton Boys Golf get two DAC wins

The Chesterton boys golf team picked up a pair of Duneland Athletic Conference victories at Sand Creek on Thursday night.

Playing the Marsh Course, the Trojans shot a 162 team score to beat Crown Point (170) and Merrillville (206).

Devin Trusty took medalist honors with an even par 36 that included two birdies. Sean Elliott fired a 40 in support and Jackson Kerkes shot 41. Cameron Schultz (45) and Jackson Roberts (45) rounded out the scoring.

CHS returns to the course on Saturday when they take part in the Lake Central Invite. Tee time is 11 a.m.

Merrillville -- Justin Villanueva 49, Parker Connelius 50, Abdullha Abdul 52, Josh Krause 67, Juan Garcia 55.

Junior Varsity

Crown Point 198, Chesterton 227, Merrillville NTS

The Chesterton junior varsity shot 227, but fell to Crown Point on Thursday.

Sam Keane led the Trojans with a 47, while Rueben Coslov (56), Aden Gray (58), Keyon Allen (66) and Jonathan Casey (67) followed.
