Chesterton Boys Golf beats Lake Central and Merrillville

The Chesterton boys golf team improved to 9-1 in Duneland Athletic Conference play with victories over Lake Central and Merrillville on Thursday at Sand Creek.

The Trojans fired a 168 team score, followed by Lake Central (174) and Merrillville (216).

Mitch Davis took medalist honors with a two-over-par 38. Davis was followed by Devin Trusty (41), Eli Winski (44), Cade Lewandowski (45) and Cameron Schultz (48).

CHS returns to the course today when they head to LaPorte for the Uebele Invitational at Beechwood. The first tee time is set for 1 p.m.

Chesterton -- Mitch Davis 38, Devin Trusty 41, Cade Lewandowski 45, Eli Winski 44, Cameron Schultz 48.

Lake Central -- Jordan Lykowski 47, Reid Dahlkamp 46, Tyler Copak 47, Jack Good 40, Anthony Bossi 41.

Merrillville -- Elijah Royal 54, Keith Rochefort 52, Marcus Norton 51, Angelo Strong 62, Justin Villanueva 59.

The Chesterton junior varsity dropped a 177-206 decision to Lake Central on Thursday.

Jackson Kerkes led the Trojans with a 41. Rounding out the scoring was Peter Girzadas (50), Jackson Roberts (50), Christian Hut nick (65) and Max Winski (66).
