Chesterton Baseball drops DH to Highland

The Chesterton baseball team dropped a doubleheader Friday night to Highland, losing game one 7-2 and game two 6-0.

In game one, the Trojans fell behind 7-0 before scoring solo runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

Offensively, Tyler Nelson, Zach Zimmerman and Garrett Fairbanks each had a single.

Ben Collins took the loss in working three innings and striking out five. Aidan Turner struck out one in 1 1/3 innings and Chad Dzierba struck out four in 2 2/3 innings of relief.

In game two, the Trojans allowed six unearned runs in the top of the first and never recovered.

Offensively, Zach McKenna had a pair of hits for CHS, while Fairbanks, Haydn Malackowski and Connor Krantz each added a single.

On the mound, Ray Keane took the loss and struck out four in four innings of work. Ryan Slivka struck out six in three innings of relief.

The Trojans return to the field on Tuesday when they host Lake Central beginning at 4:30 p.m.
