The Chesterton baseball bats woke up on Thursday in a victory at Valparaiso
and continued to roll on Friday as they beat Michigan City 15-3.
The Trojans pounded out 15 hits and scored seven first inning runs to pick
up the Duneland Athletic Conference victory.
Offensively, Justin Jenks and KJ Zelenika were each 4-for-4. Jenks scored
three times and had two RBI’s to go along with a home run, while Zelenika
had a double and four RBI’s.
Zach Rochowiak was 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three RBI’s and scored
twice. JR Frederick added a two-run double.
Jake Post pitched all five innings for Chesterton and scattered six hits,
while recording eight strikeouts in the win.
