The Chesterton baseball team pushed four runs across in the bottom of the
first inning to complete a season sweep of arch-rival Valparaiso 5-3 on
Thursday afternoon.
Nate Majcher’s two-run double in the first was the big blow as the Trojans
took advantage of a Valparaiso error for an early lead.
A sixth-inning double by Austin Cooley plated the other Chesterton run in
the win.
Offensively, Jordan Peterson and Justin Jenks had two hits each to lead the
Trojans.
On the mound, Jake Post worked all seven innings, scattering eight hits and
striking out six for the win.
