Chesterton Baseball beats LaPorte 4-1

Back To Front Page

The Chesterton baseball team put together just enough offense and Austin Peterson worked his way out of a few jams as the Trojans beat LaPorte 4-1 on Tuesday.

The Slicers took advantage of a pair of Chesterton errors in the first to score the gameís first run.

Things would remain that way until the fifth when Peterson got things started himself with a leadoff single. A ground ball from Patrick Arndt moved Peterson to second and an RBI single by Blake Soffa tied the game at 1-1.

Erik Ralph reached on an error and Soffa scored on Chris Borenís double.

The Trojans set the final score in the sixth when Ethan Conway singled to center to start the inning. A double by Peterson and intentional walk to Arndt loaded the bases.

With two outs, Brett Roeske reached on an error that scored Conway and Peterson.

Peterson picked up the win on the mound by scattering seven hits and striking out six.
