Shelby Bullock started the season on the IR and ended it on the State Podium

Bullock finished ninth overall in the 3,200 at the IHSAA State Track and Field Meet in Bloomington on Friday.

“Shelby ran a fantastic race,” Chesterton coach Bryan Nallenweg said. “She has overcome a lot this season with injuries and to be able to run like she did at the State Meet was incredible.”

Bullock’s time of 10:52.21 was also a CHS school record.

“She set the school record and earned a medal in the process,” Nallenweg said. “It was a fantastic conclusion to the season for Shelby.”

The Trojans were also represented by Kirsten Wozniak in the 300 hurdles. The senior finished 25th overall in 48.32.

“Kirsten went out and competed with the top hurdlers in the State,” Nallenweg said. “There are few girls that have worked as hard as Kirsten. It’s always great to see a senior be rewarded for all of their hard work over the last four years.”
