Biel wins Cato Mental Attitude Award in state soccer tourney

Following Saturdayís IHSAA Class 3A Boys Soccer Championship match, the IHSAA Executive Committee named Chestertonís Nick Biel as the recipient of the C. Eugene Cato Mental Attitude Award presented by Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.

The Trojans beat Castle 7-1 to win their second state title in three years.

The award is annually presented to a senior, who is nominated by his principal and coach, and has demonstrated excellence in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability during his four years of high school.

Nick is the son of Tom and Claudia Biel. He will be attending Western Michigan University and will study Sports Management in pursuit of becoming a college coach.

Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, a proud corporate partner of the IHSAA, presented a $1,000 scholarship to Chesterton High Schoolís general scholarship fund in the name of Nick Biel.
