The Chesterton girls cross country team finished second overall in the 14-team Artesian Invitational at Martinsville on Saturday.

Columbus North won the event with 30 points, while the Trojans (62), Indianapolis North Central (80), Bloomington North (115) and Brownsburg (174) rounded out the top five.

Haley Cushway led the way for the Trojans with an eighth place overall finish in 20:22.77. Kassidy Scott also finished among the top 10 with a 10th place finish in 20:34.54.

Other Trojan finishers included Hannah Hoffman (12th, 20:42.90), Sam Giordano (15th, 20:49.62), Melanie Buckmaster (17th, 21:00.94), Rosie Biehl (18th, 21:02.60) and Erin Socha (19th, 21:04.20).

In the junior varsity race, Kaylee Slont led the Trojans with a fifth place finish (21:40.16).
