The Chesterton volleyball team improved to 16-5 on the year and 8-3 in
Duneland Athletic Conference play with a 25-19, 24-26, 26-24, 25-22 victory
at Portage on Thursday.
Offensively, Katie Urycki led the Trojans with 17 kills, while Shelby
Ruffner added eight. Jennifer Williams added six kills with Emily Nix and
Jessica Urycki tallying five kills.
Ariane Mahaffey led the team with 18 assists and Williams recorded 13
assists.
Defensively, Urycki had 14 digs and Mahaffey added 13. Williams tallied 11
digs and Sara TarnowskI had 10 digs. Jordyn Moleski recorded seven digs in
the win.
Ruffner led the Trojans at the net with three block kills. Urycki and
Mahaffey had two block kills each.

The Chesterton junior varsity outlasted Portage in three games on Thursday
night.
Offensively, Samantha Stueber had a team-best seven kills with Shelby Snyder
adding five. Aubrey Nagdeman tallied four kills and Kaitlyn Kupyers had
three kills.
Snyder dished out a team-high 11 assists and Nagdeman had nine assists to go
along with five service aces.
Defensively, Emily Parkerson had a team-best 12 digs with Snyder adding 11.
Allie Sink and Lia Lombardini each had four digs in the victory.

Chesterton 12-22
The Chesterton freshman team dropped a 25-12, 25-22 decision at Portage on
Thursday.
Offensively, Elena Azcona had a team-best three kills with Kaylee Goin
adding two kills. Taylor Eaton, Taylor Rodriguez and Lyndsey McNamara all
had one kill.
Caitlyn Toth dished out a team-best six assists.
Defensively, Katelyn Woods had six digs with McNamara adding three digs.
Katelynn Williams and Samantha Broering each had two digs.
