The Porter County Parks Department is offering a number of programs that
encourage fitness and mindfullness.
The programs are as follows:
Meditation/Chakra Workshop: Come to Brincka Cross Gardens on Saturday, July
14, from 2 to 4 p.m. for this retreat that will focus on the health of the
mind and the body. The fee is $20 for the class, which will be led by
Cynthia Smith.
Morning, evening Run Club: Group fun runs are led by experienced trail
runners. This is a free running club that runs five miles and longer on
varied routes at Sunset Hill. Morning runs are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8
to 9 a.m.
Evening runs are Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. Runners meet in the main parking
lot. No registration is necessary.
Center Your Energy: Learn techniques of mindful breathing and meditation at
this workshop on Saturday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brincka Cross
Gardens.
The fee is $40 for the class, led by experienced instructor Kate Schlobohm.
