The Porter County Commissioners are currently accepting applications from people interested in serving on county boards.

The commissioners will make their appointments to the following boards in January:

Porter County Health Board: One Republican and one Democrat seat are up for appointment by the commissioners.

Drainage Board: One Democrat seat is up for appointment.

Porter County Plan Commission: One Democrat and one Republican seat are up for appointment.

Also up for appointment are seats on the Alcoholic Beverage Commission; the Porter County Convention, Recreation & Visitor Commission; the Property Tax Assessment Board of Review; the Porter County Wildlife Management Advisory Board; and the Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals.

Individuals interested in being appointed by the commissioners for any of the boards should obtain a letter of instruction and application from the commissioners’ office at the County Administration Center, 155 Indiana Ave., Valparaiso.

Applications must be returned by Dec. 19. The commissioners will make their appointments at a public meeting on Jan. 6.
