Tourism, the official tourism bureau of Porter County, on Thursday honored
two dozen businesses, organizations and individuals for their outstanding
(Recognition of Service Excellence) Awards recognize those who provide
excellent service or otherwise go the extra mile to make Porter County a
great place for visitors and residents alike to enjoy.

Chesterton; Festival of the Year - Hooked on Art; Restaurant of the Year -
Kelsey’s Steak House, Valparaiso; Retailer of the Year - Chelle’s; Newcomer
of the Year - Hunter’s Brewing; Recreation Location of the Year -- Portage
Lakefront and Riverwalk; Partner of the Year - Valpo Velvet; Putting Porter
County on the Map - Thad Donovan; Turning Lemons into Lemonade - Brad
Bumgardner; Attraction of the Year - 49er Drive-In Theatre; People’s Choice
Restaurant of the Year -- Industrial Revolution; People’s Choice Retailer of
the Year - BJ’s Coins & Jewelry; and People’s Choice Pub of the Year - Moods
went to Richard Riley, owner of Riley’s Railhouse Bed and Breakfast in
Chesterton, for Professional of the Year and Lori Guilfoyle, for Hospitality
Professional of the Year. Volunteer of the year went to Rafi Wilkinson.
Shining Star awards
were given to Suzi Galvin, Ashley Goldsmith and Adam Erb.

Lakeshore, Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve and Friends of Indiana Dunes.
