Back To Front Page

The Porter County Parks and Recreation Department will hold a public meeting Monday, June 2 at Morgan Township Middle/High School from 7-8:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed development of a new park in South Porter County.

Representatives from the Parks Department and members of the community will be on hand to review the proposed Park Master Plan and gather input for the new 63.5-acre park, between County Roads 650S and 700S on the west side of Ind. 49 (1 mile north of Kouts).

The existing property is currently being farmed with homes to the west, north and south.

The park plan is intended to accommodate both active and passive uses, with emphasis on active uses.

Likely uses include athletic fields, pedestrian trails and non-programmed open space.

Morgan Township MS/HS is located at 299 S. Ind. 49.
