The Porter County Parks and Recreation Department will host a public meeting on Thursday, May 29, from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in the Program Center, immediately following a meeting of the Sunset Run Club.

During the public meeting, Superintendent Walter Lenckos will discuss plans to apply for funding through the Indiana Department of Natural Resourcesí Land and Water Conservation Fund to upgrade public restrooms and create an environmental education play area. Lenckos will outline the steps that have been taken in developing the grant application regarding features, amenities and accessibility, and ask for input from those in attendance about what they would like to see included.

The grant application will be submitted for the 2014 funding round in early June. Lenckos said that public input is needed to ensure that plans meet the needs of those who utilize the park.

Sunset Hill Farm County Park is located at 775 Meridian Road, southwest of the U.S. 6 and Meridian Road intersection.
