* Reiki Level
1: Reiki is a Japanese technique for working with the life energy that flows
through our bodies. On Sunday, June 1, the Reiki Level 1 class at Brincka
Cross Gardens (427 E. Furnessville Rd.) will teach the techniques to
increase and direct that energy for relaxation and optimal well being. The
class will last from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants must take Reiki 1 before
participating in Reiki 2. Cost is $40.
* Youth Track
& Field: Registration is still open! Boys and Girls (ages 4-12) of all skill
levels are welcome to join the Porter County Parks track team. Each Thursday
from June 5 to July 24 at 5:30 to 7 p.m. participants will have the
opportunity to compete in 4 events (field and running) each meet. Children
will run with youngsters their own age, with boys and girls in separate
divisions. Porter County Parks will compete against the Valpo YMCA, Highland
Parks Department, and the Valparaiso Parks Depar
Photography Club: Club members meet monthly to discuss topics related to
photography. The next meeting is going to be Tuesday, June 3, at Sunset Hill
Farm (775 N. Meridian Road) from 7-9 p.m. Topics range from camera basics to

Chat: On every Monday and Wednesday from June until October, meet the Park
Horticulturist from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sunset Hill Farm to help plant,
weed and maintain the garden and ask your own gardening questions. This is a
Painting: All skill levels are welcome to attend this art class on Monday,
June 2, at the South Haven Public Library under the guidance of an
experienced instructor. A painting surface will be provided. Cost is $10.
* Gentle Yoga
and Strength Training for Seniors: Sponsored by Porter Regional Hospital
Senior Circle: Every Thursday until June 5 at the Hebron Public Library from
10:30 -11:30 a.m. this Gentle Yoga and Strength Training class, Taught by a
Yoga Fit Certified Instructor, will teach the basics of gentle yoga while
sitting in a chair. The Parks Department will also incorporate the use of
TheraBands for gentle strength training. Cost is $5 for each session or $30
for the entire series.
* Meet the
Animals: On Friday, June 6, families are invited to stop by Sunset Hill Farm
from 10 to 11 a.m. to meet the animals and their caretakers. This is a free
Hikes: On Saturday, June 7, come out and enjoy Sunset Hill Farm with the
park naturalist from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A new month will always bring a new
topic for exploring and discussing from geology to history and beyond. This
is a free program.
* Boot Camp
at Sunset-Sponsored by Porter Regional Hospital: Join a master level trainer
at Sunset Hill for an invigorating hour long workout that is guaranteed to
work your body from head to toe. Sessions will be on Saturdays from 7-8 a.m.
from now to June 14. Open to men and women 18 years and older. Cost is $5
per session or $35 for the series.
Meditation Series: Each Friday from May 23 to June 13, join an instructor at
Brincka-Cross Gardens from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to learn the ins and outs of
meditation, which will focus on both the mind and body. Participants must
attend a Meditation Workshop before participating in the 4 week Meditation
Series. Cost for the series is $35 or $10 per each session.

Run Club: On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 9 a.m., join the Sunset Hill
Run Club for a run to discover the beauty of Sunset Hill. The length of the

Walkers at Sunset Hill Farm County Park: Bring your four-legged friend on a
leash for a walk on the trails at Sunset Hill Farm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 10-11 a.m. The walk will offer wellness information and encouragement
for the dogs and their walkers. Must be 18 years or older. This is a free
Walk at Sunset Hill Farm County Park: Come to Sunset Hill for a walk on the
challenging terrain of the park. The program continues each Wednesday at 6
p.m. until Oct. 29. The walk will traverse grass, hills, and woodland
