The Committee to Elect Jeremy Rivas is hosting a “2nd in the 2nd” Campaign
Kick-Off on Nov. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Clancy’s Public House in Portage.
The public is welcome to attend. Tickets are $25 at the door.
According to the Committee’s press release, Porter County Councilman Jeremy
Rivas, who is running for his second term in the second district, has been a
fiscal conservative while being an advocate for Public Safety,
infrastructure improvements, economic development, the park system, and an
efficient and effective government.
While there are many challenges that face Porter County today, within those
challenges, Rivas believes there are great opportunities. That is why
Councilman Rivas has been a vocal advocate for planning, the release said.
As a bricklayer by trade, Jeremy Rivas understands the importance of
planning your work and then working your plan.
Rivas also believes in leading by example; he has moved to cut benefits and
pay for the county council while asking other county departments to cut
their budgets in these challenging times for local governments.
