Porter County Council Member Jim Biggs, R-1st, has announced his intention to file for re-election.

In a statement released after deadline on Wednesday, Biggs said that he’s grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the taxpayers of Porter County during his first term.

His goal in a second term would be to continue to serve as the taxpayers’ fiscal voice, Biggs said

Biggs also said that he has continually urged the county’s leaders to develop a comprehensive operations plan, in order to better manage its business; as well as to introduce contemporary work rules.

The 1st District seat on the County Council includes the Duneland townships of Liberty, Jackson, and most of Westchester, and portions of Portage and Center townships.
