Dave Reynolds, formerly Porter County Sheriff, has announced his bid to run
for the position again in 2014.
Reynolds will hold a press conference at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at the
Porter County Sheriff’s Department, formally to announce his candidacy.
Reynolds, a Democrat, served two previous four-year terms in the office,
1999-2002 and 2003-2006.
Under state law, a person may hold the office of sheriff for a maximum of
two consecutive terms but Indiana Code does not limit the total number of
terms one may serve.
Reynolds was succeeded in office by his former chief deputy, David Lain,
also a Democrat, who is now serving his own second consecutive term.
