Back To Front Page

Porter County Parks & Recreation has announced that on April 14 Porter County Park Board President Rich Hudson executed the closing documents to acquire 15 acres adjacent to Brincka-Cross Gardens.

The Parks Dept. is planning to add a much-needed parking lot on the property and maintain the rest for conservation and accessibility purposes.

The land was purchased from John Petryszyn with funding from two grants. Half of the funding came from the Lake Michigan Coastal Program through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, with funds provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA.) The other half was provided by the State of Indiana’s Bicentennial Nature Trust.

Brincka-Cross Gardens is located at 427 Furness Road, in Pine Township. It is open to the public daily from dawn to dusk.
