The Porter County Board of Zoning Appeals will convene this Wednesday for
its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. in Room 205 of the County Administration
Center, 155 Indiana Ave., Valparaiso.
One of the items under new business is a request from Jackson Twp. resident
Kenneth Price for a variance permitting a business to sell firearms for
hunting and archery, along with manufacturing custom made outer wear, to be
operated out of an accessory structure on his property located at 494
Whitewood Drive in Jackson Heights subdivision.
The address is located in a Rural Residential zoned district.
In other new business, Rocky Mountain Specialty Services LLC requests a
variance to operate and store explosive material in an accessory structure
located at 420 North and Old State Road 2 in Washington Twp.
Duneland cases under old business include Keith and Janice Meyers of 316 E.
County Road 1050 North in Jackson Twp. seeking extension for use variance
allowing a mobile home to be used for farm security and labor.
John Sanders of 3 E. County Road 900 North in Liberty Twp. seeks an
extension for his variance allowing the sale of products produced on his
farm in a Single-family Residential district.
