The Porter County Board of
Commissioners will convene for its first meeting of the year on Tuesday at
its new meeting time of 10 a.m.
The meeting will be in Room
205 of the County Administration Building, 155 Indiana Ave. in Valparaiso.
Starting with new business,
the Commissioners will name appointments to local boards and commissions.
Mike Jabo of DLZ Indiana
will ask the board to approve the sixth payment for the Jail Security
Project for $82,090.
A health insurance
consulting agreement with R.E. Sutton & Associates will be considered, as
will a general service agreement with American StructurePoint and general
service agreement with DLZ Indiana.
There will be a general
discussion regarding casualty and automobile service and a general services
agreement with American StructurePoint about the redesign of the plaza at
the Administration Building.
A second reading will be
made on an ordinance to collect court ordered detention services fees into a
non-reverting fund for the Juvenile Detention Center.
The Sheriff’s Police will
request approval of the maintenance agreement with the Indiana State
Department of Toxicology for the 2017 Evidentiary Breath Test and a contract
with Mitsubishi UPS Systems.
The Recycling and Solid
Waste District will ask the Commissioners to approve the agreement to
collect district fees.
ITS Director Don Wellsand
will discuss with the Commissioners network and internet usage.
Porter County Right to Life
will request approval to hold a prayer vigil on Jan. 21 in front of the
Porter County Courthouse from 12 to 1 p.m.
The board will elect its
officers for the year.
Commissioners’ meeting, the County Stormwater Management Board will meet to
approve quotes, hear project updates and requests for quotes on Philips
Ditch maintenance and Washington Square Subdivision SWM System improvements.
