The Porter County Board of Commissioners approved the list of polling places for the 2018 primary and general elections at its meeting Tuesday.

Clerk Karen Martin--who has been granted authority to administer the elections--reported that all 75 polling places have been reviewed. The only change in the list: Boone Township’s polling place has been moved from the community building to St. Helen’s Church.

The Commissioners also also approved a polling equipment maintenance agreement with Election Systems & Software for $138,276.75.

Other Approvals

The Board also approved the following items:

* An artistic services agreement with Don Parker and Andrew Snyder for the Memorial Opera House.

* A contract with Delta Dental to provide health insurance for County employees and a contract with Tokio Marine to be the stop-loss provider for County health insurance.

* An ordinance establishing a non-reverting fund for charitable donations for the Emergency Management Agency, and an ordinance establishing a non-reverting fund for the Porter County EMA as the fiduciary agent of District I emergency task force. * The purchase of new software for the Expo Center. Expo Center Director Lori Daly reported that the software, Boyce, is used for in-house accounting and bookkeeping. The annnual cost of the contract: $1,780.

* The purchase of an Adams Remco copier for E911 at a cost of $8,564. The new copier is replacing an old one that has reached the end of its useful life.
