Porter County
Auditor Vicki Urbanik has been named the 2021 president of the Indiana
County Auditors’ Association (ICAA).
ICAA’s mission is
to provide “the highest standard of excellence in assisting and representing
all 92 Indiana county auditors,” according to a statement released by
Urbanik. “It carries out its missions in such ways as sharing resources,
advocating for legislative changes that benefit taxpayers, and coordinating
educational training for auditors.”
“It is an
incredible honor for me to represent Porter County through this important
statewide organization,” Urbanik said. “The job of a county auditor in
Indiana can be complex and demanding, and the Auditors’ Association is one
way to help give county auditors the tools they need to enhance the work
they do for the taxpayers.”
Though the
continued public health crisis may impact in-person gatherings in 2021,
Urbanik said that she is planning a full schedule of programming for the
Auditors’ Association.
Urbanik first
became an officer of the ICAA in 2017, when she was named board secretary.
She subsequently moved up in the officer positions and was named the 2021
president at this year’s fall conference. As the ICAA president, Urbanik
also joins the board of the Association of Indiana Counties, which
represents all county officials across the state.
