Corn dogs or Potato Chips: Zachary Hamilton, age 2, and Katie Mitchell, age 8, of Chesterton, are enjoying all kinds of goodies at this year’s 152nd Annual Porter County Fair. Wednesday is Senior Citizens Day, anyone over 62 is admitted free. The Fair will continue through Saturday evening.

Family Affair: Mark Brown, owner of Brown’s Dairy, home of Valpo Velvet ice cream hands out ice cream cones to the Tourkilous family of Jackson Township. Pictured, left to right in front of the booth, is Charleen holding her son Yanni, in front daughter Jeni, nephew Adam Tofte-Patrick and receiving her cone, daughter Lillianna.

Petting A Cow: The Gluszewski family of Chesterton enjoys an evening at the Porter County Fair. The whole family is shown petting one of the many cows in the cattle barn. Pictured, from left to right, are dad Mike, Brad, age 13, mom Marisa, Lauren, age 4 and Ryan, age 2. The fair continues through Saturday.

Brushing Cattle: Joey Balon of Jackson Township was in the cattle barn Monday evening brushing down his Angus steer in preparation for the Thursday evening 4-H Livestock Celebration Sale in the show arena. The annual event starts at 6 p.m.

Cooling off piggy: Amanda Tofte-Patrick, age 10, of Jackson Township, takes time out for a photo with her swine. The duo placed 4th in Showmanship at the Monday evening judging in the show arena at the Porter County Fair. Amanda is in her second year of 4-H and was also awarded reserve grand champion with her corn muffins and an A honor in drawing. She will also be showing ducks later in the week.
