
14th Birthday Celebration: 4-H member Jessica Gamblin
celebrated her 14th birthday with many members of the Libery Hot-Shots on
Tuesday evening after competitions. The group threw a little birthday party
in the stabbles at the Porter County Fairgrounds. Many stopped by to wish
her a happy birthday and have a piece of chocolate cake. Jessica is shown
holding her piece of cake with her horse Bud after being named Grand
Champion in Huntseat Equitation, a pattern and rail work competition.

Ready for show: Tuesday afternoon’s heat meant cooling
and cleaning their animals for Elisabeth Jones, 14, and Christopher Ruge,
14, both CMS 8th graders and exhibitors at the Porter County 4-H Fair. They
are shown here washing their Holstein Dairy cows. Both will be exhibiting in
the Holstein Dairy Cow competition Thursday morning. Jones is a Lakeshore
Drifter member and Ruge is a Jackson Volunteer.
