14th Birthday Celebration: 4-H member Jessica Gamblin celebrated her 14th birthday with many members of the Libery Hot-Shots on Tuesday evening after competitions. The group threw a little birthday party in the stabbles at the Porter County Fairgrounds. Many stopped by to wish her a happy birthday and have a piece of chocolate cake. Jessica is shown holding her piece of cake with her horse Bud after being named Grand Champion in Huntseat Equitation, a pattern and rail work competition. (Tribune photo by Dana Gilbertson)

Photograpy Exhibitors: 4-H members of Liberty Hot-Shots Ashley Ford and Jeffrey Russel show their photograpy pieces which are on display in the 4-H Building at the Porter County Fairgrounds. Ashley holds her black and white photo of her neighbor and Jeffrey holds his poster of “Experiences in Color.” (Tribune photo by Dana Gilbertson)

Ready for show: Tuesday afternoon’s heat meant cooling and cleaning their animals for Elisabeth Jones, 14, and Christopher Ruge, 14, both CMS 8th graders and exhibitors at the Porter County 4-H Fair. They are shown here washing their Holstein Dairy cows. Both will be exhibiting in the Holstein Dairy Cow competition Thursday morning. Jones is a Lakeshore Drifter member and Ruge is a Jackson Volunteer. (Tribune photo by Margaret L. Willis)
